Exit Sign

red-exit-sign

Jump before it all comes tumbling down.

Swim before you’re engulfed to drown.

Don’t follow the yellow brick road,

winding towards the great wizard

who is nothing but a false crown.

*

Climb to the top before you tumble.

Find your footing before you stumble.

Don’t get caught in the great avalanche,

sweeping over you in pangs and regrets

that cause your soul to grumble.

*

You see the signs clear as day.

You kneel before the Lord and pray.

And yet you blindly follow your heart

when the heart is deceitful and wicked,

and leads you astray.

*

Follow the Exit Sign.

Tis life. We live and learn and grow. What do you do in times of great sadness?

  1. I eat icecream. It’s shallow, but that’s what I do. And binge watch TV. This was beautiful
