So Friday the 4th of December I was supposed to post a Friday Fiction thing but this was my Friday:
Morning: Work rush because we had to finish everything before we went out for our end of year staff function.
Afternoon: End of year staff function late into the afternoon.
Evening: NaNoWriMo TGIO late into the eve.
What does that mean? Bad planning and therefore no Flash Friday. Sooo here it is. Today. On Wednesday.
She clutched the pendant around her neck with fear and longing, staring out into the fading darkness of a steadily rising sun. Her pendant, a silver dragon, gleamed golden in the flickering candle light, illuminating both it and the edges of a scar tracing along her rounded chin.
“You still carry that thing?” A voice spoke behind her. The heavy boots of her husband echoed across the bare floor. She half turned her face to look at him over her shoulder. Her long golden tresses shone in the light, illuminating the scaring edged across her bare shoulder up along her neck. He traced his finger over the scars.
“Dragons be dangerous love, you surely cannot be considering summoning one after…”
She turned her face away from his fingers.
“It was… it was a misunderstanding.”
“No misunderstanding leaves you scarred so love.”
Her eyes fell towards the open door where chalk traced her fate. She sobbed.
“A beautiful girl lived here.”
Awesome story. 🙂
